Equitable Environments and Relationships: Cultivating Strong Tier 1 Practices in Multi-Tiered System of Supports Webinar

How do we think and talk about the children in our schools? Biased, stereotypical language, damaging labels, and negative mindsets can cause well-meaning adults to misinterpret a student’s culture and language as a deficit. This interactive webinar will help participants cultivate and model strong MTSS tier-one practices by offering guidance on developing a cognitive process to contemplate and interrupt historically deficit views and responses to students from linguistically and culturally diverse backgrounds. Participants will reflect on where they show up on the Cultural Proficiency Continuum and how they respond to differences, interpret data, and decide when to move students to tiers two and three and back to tier one.

When: Thursday, June 2, 2022, 10 AM PST (1:00 PM EST)
