Ruthie Caparas serves as a Technical Assistance provider for the national Center to Improve Social & Emotional Learning and School Safety.
Caparas is also a researcher with WestEd’s Strategic Resource Planning & Implementation team. Caparas has worked on a range of education research projects, particularly those focused on school districts’ strategic planning and continuous improvement practices. This work includes identifying districts that are “beating the odds” (aka positive outliers or exemplars) and providing technical assistance to state, regional, and local education agencies to help scale those promising practices.
Caparas has also contributed to statewide cost adequacy studies, providing state policy context, qualitative data collection, and resource allocation analyses. Caparas holds a BA from Stanford University and an MA in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from California State University, Sacramento.
