Public Funding for School-Based Mental Health Programs

Lisa Eisenberg; California School-Based Health Alliance

  • View this resource

This document is intended to identify and explain the ongoing public mental health funding streams in California that can support the full continuum of school-based mental health services. It also helps illustrate how schools can best leverage public mental health funding streams and community partnerships to maximize existing resources.

Given the growing awareness of and interest in addressing student mental health, California also proposed significant onetime investments in school mental health as part of the 2021-2022 state budget. This resource also includes a brief description of those investments and how to strategically leverage the funding to support school-based mental health services and programs.
